This initiative is the confluence of two young, spirited and driven women from Kolkata who wears their heart on their sleeves. Trina and Sriya have regular job in the much acclaimed NGO, Swayam. During one of their regular taxi rides, they decided that if some day they would have to create a brand of their own, it would be something that relates their passion for travel.
After some intense brainstorming, the dynamic duo decided to produce handpainted keds. The motivation behind choosing keds was that these appeal to women from all age groups, thanks to its convenience and wearibility factor. In addition, keds are quite versatile and can be easily teamed up with any outfit to create an edgy yet preppy look. Each edition by the brand is an ode to the places they have explored. Their debut collection encapsulates their memories of Portugal. Kolkata and Mizoram themed editions are also in the pipeline.
Future Plans:
These young entrepreneurs have big yet steady plans for their brand. Currently, they are on their own and involved in every aspect of the business right from conceptualization, production, manufacture to finance. Because of their association with Swayam, they aim to create employment for women artisans by subsuming them under the umbrella of the Swayam team.
