My favourite spot in the house would have to be ‘by my window side’ on the fluffy rug along with the plush cushions and fuzzy teddies. This spot of the room is just a small nook with no activity, however, this is where most of my thoughts spring and all the ideas build up. By a huge glass window from top to bottom, I can stare into the city lights at night and wander into all what I was and what I can become. This spot is not just my favourite but the most comfortable place in the house as the fluffy carpet relaxes my mind from all the stress and allows me get lost into my dreams by cuddling into the cushions.
Adds Laila Idris, a Marketing Executive, works in Dubai… I experience all the changing seasons throughout the year by this window side whether it’s the summery days full of noisy traffic or chilled winter evenings watching the sun set early. I sometimes find myself lost in memory lane or focusing on my bright future ahead. During the rainfalls I notice how life is so beautiful apart from the busy routines we all go through and how we often forget to notice the lovely winters in Dubai. Whereas, when the sun shines I can lay by the sunlight and reflect on ways to progress in my career.
My beloved spot is also a good stress buster for me because in my most taxing moments this is where I come to cry my heart out or just glare out of the window breathing through the fresh breeze. It cheers me up and lightens my chaotic mind with a positive thought of why worry when everyday is a second chance. Listening to the music with my earplugs firmly placed I stare out of the window and sometimes look at my cute teddies and start imagining all sorts of fantasy especially of royalty with the falling drape of the curtains above me. The golden drape relates to a feeling of being a queen and how I can own what I desire.
This positive thought enlightens and motivates me to accomplish my every goal in life. Good vibes are brought to me by sitting in this spot and these vibes are what I need to paint a picture in my mind. The sound of airplanes in contrast to the birds chirping makes me more artistic and pushes me to write words that are waiting to get out of my mind. By the end of the night, a string of star lights lying on the bottom of the window take me to an enchanted forest where I visualize the wildest adventures. And once again sitting at my favourite spot I run my hands through the fluffy rug, hold on tight to the luscious cushions and feel my hair flutter in the wind.
I am at peace!
