She has a super penchant for colors and art; home decor passion drives her to combine these skills. A mother to a 5 year old, her day starts running around the little tyke, getting him ready for his school and then leaving for work. Finally at work, while sipping her coffee is where she relaxes and lets her creative ideas flow.
- Tell us something about your home?
Home is a space where I want to spend the best of my time, i.e. unwind & relax. I am inspired by art, vibrant colors and beautiful things around. We live in a 3-bedroom 1500 sq.ft house. Here you will find an amalgamation of traditional & modern elements. The colors used are warm colors against a soothing beige and white background. The idea of having subtle colors in the background is to make the room look more spacious, with the dash of colorful rustic / earthy elements. There are no rules to design your own space. We have done what we like to see around, what appeals to our eyes and minds. My house is done in a limited budget; few of the accessories are done by using recycled stuff.
Like the family picture frame is done by using a wedding card. The red vase with a tribal painting is done by joining two cardboards of cylindrical shape. It’s a different joy to create and beautify junk.
- Of all the places which one has your impression?
My favorite place in the house is the corner of the living room, which has all my favorite artifacts arranged on the glass table like the blue Buddha, the long yellow vase with colorful assorted flowers, our family picture, the silver candle stand etc. I love the light falling on the Buddha and it brightens the corner and gives the entire room a very cozy look.
The floral elements are adding a natural & lively touch to the space. I love cushions dressed with different textures colors, they simply stylize your room irrespective of the furniture and decor.
- How do you chill out there?
Weekends at home are fun especially when we are feeling lazy. An ideal weekend would be watching movies at home while munching on the food. We spend hours in this room simply chatting or watching TV, eating or doing absolutely nothing.
- Anything you would like to add to the space?
Maybe a wind chime.
- Any other place in the house you would like to remodel?
The house is under renovation again so there are many changes happening which will soon be visible to all.
