My Home – Peaceful and Enticing!

Today in ‘My Home (story)’ we bring you the inside story of a very vibrant and energetic individual, Jenny David, who is an HR Head in the one of the most happening cities of India – Ahmedabad.

I, as a person, am someone who enjoys life as it comes. I am a happy ‘soul’ whether in midst of a million people or just being with my own self.

I love vibrancy, commotion and silence, all in all. This very much signifies my love for balconies, terraces & windows. Even while dining out, I ensure I get a seat near the window because I love staring out of the window, at the beauty and the serenity it provides. The hustle bustle of the traffic, people walking by, or any other activity happening.

One of my favourite spots in my home is the French window with low sitting. Since we are the unfortunate one’s who do not have a nice balcony, the window makes up for it. If I have to describe the window in my own words, I would say it is a lowered window instead of a wall in our living room and THAT is my favourite spot. I usually sit on the floor by the window with a nice cup of coffee or some succulent fried chicken, along with a book of my choice. When it rains, I experience a certain divinity there with the rains, my favourite song playing in a loop & the ensuing peace. On such days, I stare out of the window for hours without a care in the world, and introspect my own self and everyone around.

The simplicity of the place makes it so charming; the wind in hair is uplifting, and it is my home – peaceful and enticing at the same time. On other days when I have my friends over, we grab our pillows & sit there to have our gossip sessions; my friends & I love to crash on the floor and talk till the wee hours of the morning.

When I am unwell, I lie down there with the windows open. The soft wind lulls me to sleep and I always wake up feeling rejuvenated. Dressed in my shorts & tattered home t-shirt, this where I am usually found lounging. Indeed it is my favourite space whether to wind-up or wind-down.
