Granted that we never got our Hogwarts acceptance letter when we were eleven (I blame Voldemort!), that does not mean that we have let our inner witch/wizard die. With “Harry Potter and the cursed Child” out and about, it’s time to re-kindle the Potter fire within us! So if you have always dreamt of being whisked away to the enchanting Hogwarts castle, instead of your boring muggle school, living with your house mates in the dormitories, then this is the perfect time to give a Harry Potter themed bedroom a try. You can go all ridikkulus with the decorations or you can keep them subtle, depending on your preferences.
The first place to start your Harry Potter shenanigans is the wall. If you identify yourself with a particular house of Hogwarts, you can get the wall of your room painted in the house colours. Another way to decorate the walls is to paint a mural on it. Although it is very time-consuming, it looks splendid after it is done and you can make sure that you have a one-of-a-kind Harry Potter art in your room. Decals are available these days at many stores which can also suit your needs. They are available in many different sizes, are cheap and you won’t even need a sticking charm to fix them on walls.
The bed is where you spend most of your time in your bedroom (I do!) and a comfy blanket designed with the Hogwarts crest will certainly increase the love for it. Add Harry Potter themed throw pillows and you have the bed all covered!
If you don’t want to put in too much effort, little magical trinkets scattered around the house are the perfect way to show your love for the scrawny, little boy with messy, black hair. A light switch board panel with Lumos and Nox engraved on it would ensure that you never forget your Charms. Or what say to a wall full of wonderful quotes by the greatest wizard of all time, Albus Dumbledore? A key panel with Alohomora emblazoned on it would be a great, subtle addition to your décor, if you do not want to go over the top with theme.
