Veere Di Wedding has probably been the most talked about film this year. The hallmark of the movie is female friendship, everyday relationship conundrums and its feisty female protagonists who are not afraid to live their lives on their own terms and bend the gender norms to assert their voices. However, the four gorgeous protagonists of the film Sonam Kapoor Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania not just push boundaries with their worldview but also with their sassy on-screen wardrobe!
Spearheaded by Rhea Kapoor and designed to perfection by master couturier Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, the on-screen wardrobe of these four women is bang on! The colour palette ranges from tranquil and romantic pastel shades to the uber-glamorous jewel tones to the canvas of bold and sexy metallics . The characters have been dressed according to their persona thereby the clothes become conversational and swings the story forward.
- Kareena Kapoor plays the character of Kalindi Puri who is headstrong and free-spirited. Eclectic fashion moments define her style. I absolutely heart the soft-yellow bardot crop top paired with the white lehenga. Completed with pearl choker, kalire and minimalistic make-up she is a breath-of fresh air and paves the path for bridal goals for the contemporary bride. However, it is the green foliage dupatta that will be emulated by the brides this wedding season!
- Sonam Kapoor plays the role of Avni Sharma whose style oozes sophisticated charm with generous dose of peppiness. Since she enacts the role of a lawyer in the film, Rhea Kapoor, the stylist and the producer gave her sharp silhouettes that was complimented with slick ponytails. Power blazers, no-nonsense collars and crisp white shirts dominate her power dressing aesthetics. Whilst she is letting her hair down and partying hard, bold lehengas do all the talking!
- Swara Bhaskar waved up the headlines for the portrayal of Sakshi Soni who is unpredictable, tongue-in-cheek and exudes the devil-may-care attitude with sheer conviction. She is set to tug a chord at your heart. Her style profile is quite experimental considering that she wears her dresses according to her mood! On the day of Kalindi’s wedding, she is garbed in a fresh pink crop top and trouser separates layered with a butterfly motif kimono. Now that is some style inspiration for all the bridesmaids out there!
- Shikha Talsania as Meera Singh who has just experienced motherhood and is yet to come to terms with her body is all about dressing appropriately according to her comfort. Kaftans, easy breezy dresses, comfy layers and sassy jackets constitute her wardrobe. I am in love with her icy blue and rose pink layered lehenga with criss-cross detailing. Perfect for those who loves to tick the trends without much skin-show!
