I have always been a fan of the British Royal family and especially Prince William and Kate. I have followed their wedding and subsequently the birth of the royal babies with avid interest. And when I came across this book ‘The Royal We’ which Amazon says is as bit as engrossing the story of Will and Kate, I had to read it!
So we have Bex, a free-spirited Ameriacn girl who comes to study for a semester at Oxford. She is just a few rooms away from Nicholas (Nick) Prince of Wales, but she is not really interested in him. Over time she finds herself socialising with Nick and his inner circle of friends. They bond over a supernatural soap opera and gradually fall in love.
Thrown in are motley set of characters like Lacey (Bex’s twin sister), Freddie (Nick’s crazy younger brother) , best friend Cilla, Bex’s parents and of course the Queen. We also get to know the rigid protocols and rituals followed by the Royal family.
Once the pair is out of Oxford they have to deal with numerous issues like the Nick’s insecurities, the paparazzi and the royal family’s disapproval for Bex. Their relationship goes through ups and downs, they break up, get together again. A few loyal friends see them through all these upheavels before they finally make it to the altar.
This is definitely a must -read for all the Royal family followers out there.
