It is the start of a new year and spring is just round the corner. When spring is so near, how can spring trends be left behind? Spring 2017 fashion trends are out in the world and some of our favourite designers have launched an amazing collection of groundbreaking and totally wearable looks for the coming fashion year. Although it is still sweater weather in some places and shopping for the spring trends has still got some time left, it does not mean that you cannot lust after these trends and plan your spring haul right now. Right? Stripes are eternal love, but this spring, they have gone for an incredible makeover.
Considered casual and spontaneous, everyone was pleasantly surprised when Michelle Dockery donned a vibrant, striped Ellie Saab gown for the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards for a modern look. Then came Blackish star and former Teen Vogue cover girl Yara Shahidi in a shimmering full-length Naeem Khan gown with rainbow-striped sequins and set every tongue wagging. Did I hear someone say that stripes are not meant for red carpet events!?
Be it the Spring 2017 New York Fashion Week or the Resort 2017 Fashion Week, stripes were everywhere in their most exciting form ever. Never have stripes been so colorful and bubbly in the recent years. Be it the broad bands that you love or the striped lines that you prefer, this spring 2017 trend has something for everyone. The most exciting form it took was the knit dress – the fresh twist that the stripes imparted to the dress was incredible. Alexander Wong and Monse dabbled in pin-striped shirts and dresses while Tommy Hilfiger added fun stripes to a flowy maxi dress for a fun look.
The pinnacle for this trend is definitely Rosie Assoulin’s sequin striped rainbow shirtdress, a bold take on a classic trend. If you are a fan of stripes, this is the season to go crazy with them.
