Hey my green thumb aficionados. How have you all been? How many of you have switched to frown mode deciding on what to wear to your green getaway? How many of you have been inappropriately dressed for gardening by wearing anything and everything that you can lay your hands on? Well time to bid adieu to the days of fashion emergencies because I am going to fill you in on the A to Z of garden fashion!

For your gardening lookbook the mantra is to fuse functional fashion with uber comfort. That doesn’t translate that you can’t tread the frisky route! In fact, you can stand out with your sartorial choice and synchronize with the garden ecosystem at the same time. Tie your hair into twin pigtails and add a finishing touch by swinging on a broad brimmed floppy hat. LOOK 5:

This look is perfect for gardening during the winters! Go for light-weight and front buttoned layering options that you can easily remove as you warm up. So wear a mid-ankle denim skirt with a fruity printed top. Add jerkins or shrugs for the outerwear, depending on your taste. Pair this look with rubber boots and reveal the sexy gardener in you!

A green thumb fashionista must always keep these pointers in mind:

Gardening without gloves is a big no-no! Coz you don’t want to get suffused in the dirt, do you? Have your own collection of gloves for gardening that are form-fitting, light-weight, durable and water-proof.
Don’t step out in the Sun without sunscreen. Since you have to spend long hours in the Sun, it is cognizant that you keep your bottle of sunscreen handy.
Always wear hats as it will offer protection from the sun as well as discipline you hair!
Don’t wear clothes that will expose your skin when you bend. Similarly steer away from transparent fabric that tends to bare it all once you start sweating!
In case you choose pants, ensure that they do not slide down from the waist and make you go red! Whip up a belt and be at your comfortable best.
