Fashion Freeze

I just want to hide on these cold winter days,

When the cold winds blow and everything looks dark and dreary…

When the sun sets by 5:00 and no soul is on the street…

With the temperature plummeting everyday and cold winds blowing down hard on you, we try to escape the cold by dressing in layers of clothes with big bulky shoes and try to be indoors as much as possible. But when we do step out how about doing it in style?

Remember the Famous words of Coco Chanel?

“Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.”

We here at Soul totally live and abide by the above! Whether it is harsh winters or bright summers or gloomy rains, one should always be chicly dressed…

So in fashion freeze, we bring some of the wintery tips to face the chilly weather outside with aplomb…

Skinny Jeans – If you haven’t already go get yourself a pair of skinny jeans with the safest color choices being black and blue. Team it up with chelsea boots and a leather jacket.

For a more formal look, pair them with pointed pumps, a loose flowy top and a well fitted jacket.

Coats & Jackets – One cannot go by winters without a few stylish coats and those ever-so-sexy leather jackets. Since black is the regular winter favourite, how about experimenting a bit this winter with shearling and fur in hues of orange, pinks and blues.

Knits, Cardigans & Jumpers – Cosy sweaters, classic cardigans, elegant cashmeres and sassy pullovers! Go chic this winter with some pale pink and beige knitted cardigans. Team it up with straight tailored pants or for smart casuals wear them with jeans. While relaxing at home pull out those long forgotten sweatshirts from your college or choose from a wide range available at many leading high street brands like Gap, Mango & Forever21.

Scarves – From rock stars to country stars, hollywood to bollywood, everyone seems to be having one around their neck these days. With various prints and materials to choose from it’s a must have fashion accessory. It can be wrapped in various styles making your look different each time. And for the ones who are too lazy to put in the effort, there is the infinity scarf which is in an “O” shape that you can slip around your neck. For the more adventurous hearted among us, leopard print scarves are a must and for the more brand conscious ones, Burberry has a wide range of cashmere and wool fabrics featuring their iconic checks.

Boots – Nothing makes us feel more chic and fashionable than some well-shaped boots. They satiate our thirst for being modish and at the same time keeps us warm. Winters are the best time to invest in some quality boots. Troll lazily with your loved ones this winter looking smart in those leather or suede boots. And go daring with metallic colour palettes.

Winter Hats & Ear Muffs – It’s commonly known that our body heat escapes through our head, so how about keeping the heat in and that too with style? Stay warm and look cute with some Ear Muffs and Pom Pom Beanies and for the more sporty ones there is always the colourful headbands.
