Whether it is your office desk or study desk back home we all seek a touch of novelty and aim to suffuse individuality to our personal work space. Despite the zeal to usher in the creative side what we lack is a template of ideas that would enable us to achieve our Pinterest inspired deskspace. Hence, I have curated some awesome ideas that would transform your desk space from meh to wow! So here we go-
- Wanderlust theme– If you a born with a gypsy soul and love to travel the world then let your desk site be a testament to your travelbug shade! Draw a map of the world on an art paper and outline it with black glitter pen. Follow it up with sticky pens attached with the aid of bullet pins to each of the places you have visited and write a quote or a food that is reminiscent of the place. To accentuate the sticky notes you can also use magnets and flags collected from different countries as a memory sparker! Give a DIY makeover to your globe. Cloak it with coats of white and follow it up with ‘gypsy soul’ emblazoned with golden paint and tropical prints done up with pink and green. Arrange brown paper bags in a series on one corner of the table. Now cut out motifs of aeroplane, auto, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty and Leaning tower of Pisa. As a cherry on the cake bedeck the top region of the brown packet with conspicuous pearl adorned tassels. Next paste them on each of those brown packets and voila you are ready with a gorgeous deskspace!
- Colour-coded to perfection– For the ones who has a penchant for solid colours and love to keep their room colour-coded, this theme will surely win your heart. A pink, white and golden colour palette epitomizes opulence and exudes a polished look. A white table impeccably designed with hollowed out sections to pile up your planners and organizers is the first step. Ensure that the planners and organizers tread the B and W colour scheme as it would synchronize with the overall look. Employ a series of glass jars painted with rose gold and golden to store stationeries, jamesclips, boardpins and craft essentials in each of them. Choose black and white chevron and animal printed desk organizers to stack those extra files! Towards the side of the table you can place a DIY ladder done up in white and use it as an extended bookshelf or turn it into a bonsai abode. Throw up furry cushions on your chair and soak in the beautiful mess that your desk now is!
- Vintage and classic– Vintage lampshades for those late night work would infuse a timeless charm. Vintage table clock is a must addition too. The front wall space can be adorned with well-coordinated wallpaper or it can be used to display photographs taken with your Polaroid camera! Another idea is to deploy an assortment of motivational quotes and pictures of Chanel and Audrey Hepburn and frame it in a wrought wooden frame or a metallic one and deck up the wall. Trust me it would define pulchritude! Add potted plants and flowers to enhance the appeal of your table. Instead of leaving the side of the desk empty, stack it up with a series of trunks and as a final touch don’t forget to add a birdcage and embellish it with flowers and fairy lights to create your fairytale moment!
