Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2017 ended on a fashion high. After four days of top notch fashion, both on and off the ramp. The last day of Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/winter 2017 saw a fitting end to the preceding three days of dazzling creations and terrific ensembles.
Shikha Grover and Vinita Adhikari presented ‘Ilk’, a collection of stylized saris, flowy kaftans dresses, midis and wallpaper print pajamas. Ilk charmed its way into our hearts with its relaxed vibes, subtle shades of blues and greens, and strong silhouettes that came together beautifully. The floral camouflage prints, print on print pairings, and the dainty floral embroidery were the highlights of the show.
If colorful stripes are your thing, you will love Guapa’s collection ‘Love & Beauty’. Ruffled skirts, satin shirts and long jackets in neon and candy colored stripes and minimal layering ruled the roost.
Munkee See Munkee Doo rode the contemporary chic vibe with revamped woolen basics in stylized cuts like turtlenecks and kimono-robes. The detailing using over-sized buttons was quite eye-catching.
For Nexa’s menswear show, the theme was monochromatic and the collection did not disappoint what with many futuristic gender-neutral looks.
Dhruv Vaish’s collection was all things sophisticated and classy with leather-accented gingham separates, chequered chokers and double jackets in edgy silhouettes.
Kommal and Ratul Sood presented edgy fusion wear with great fits and modern masculine silhouettes. Prateik Babbar as the showstopper looked dashing in a white blazer.
With Anushka Manchanda as the showstopper, Nought One wowed the audience with its chic military-inspired collection with camouflage accents, big utilitarian pockets and military inspired twinsets.
Pankaj Sachdeva added a festive touch to the show with his embroidered blazers, long shirt dresses in lush fabrics and zippered sherwanis. The Fashion Week came to an end with a befitting finale collection by Tarun Tahiliani and Amit Aggarwal that had the audience awestruck. Based on their interpretation of the concept of ‘Fresh New Look’, the collection of concept saris, jumpsuits, neo-bridal gowns, capes, gilets and dresses in almost every hue combined sophistication with edginess and made the night a memorable one! Influenced by the Mughal armory, Tarun Tahiliani dazzled the audience with stunning ethnic separates in eight different styles and rich jewel tones. Using upcycled Benarasi brocades and Patola saris, Amit Aggarwal created magic on the ramp with an avant-garde collection of structured gowns, metallic layered skirts and off-shoulder saris. The finale couldn’t get any better than these royal collections to say good bye in style!
