I will be your father figure….
28 years back in January 1988, the famous number-one hit song, ‘Father Figure’, written and performed by George Michael, was released. Till date the song and its music leaves us in a spell whenever it is +played.
The music video depicts a relationship between a cab driver (George Michael) and a high fashion model (Tania Coleridge). Various intercut flashbacks tell a backstory. For the video George Michael and Andy Morahan won “Best Direction of a Video” at the 1988 MTV Video Music Awards. Despite not reaching in the top 10 for the first time in his home country (UK), the song was a major hit in USA and still remains a live favorite at Michael’s concerts and is also one of his most frequently aired songs all across.
Have fun listening and watching while we hum….
I will be your father figure
(oh baby)
Put your tiny hand in mine
(i’d love to)
I will be your preacher teacher
(be your daddy)
Anything you have in mind
(it would make me)
I will be your father figure
(very happy)
I have had enough of crime
(please let me)
I will be the one who loves you –
Until the end of time…………………………..
