It is the award season, and it means that apart from keeping a tab on who went home with the trophy and who was left sulking, it is also that time of the year to update yourselves about who blazed and who fazed on the Red Carpet! The 43rd Annual People’s Choice Awards 2017 took place recently and the galaxy of stars put their best sartorial foot forward. I am bringing you 10 best fashion moments from the People’s Choice Awards 2017 , so here we go peeps –
Victoria Justice – While Pink emerged as the Red Carpet colour at the Golden Globe Awards 2017, it was the metallics that dazzled iridescently at the People’s Choice Awards 2017. Take the case of the True Jackson actress Victoria Justice who just took our breath away in a Yousef Al-Jasmi mini golden dress adorned with an explosion of gold beads! Bold red lips, rose hued-blush, hair with middle partition and Stuart Weitzman ankle-strap heels sealed the deal!
Sarah Jessica Parker – Another star who rocked the metallics trend has to be The Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker. The actress who received mixed reviews for her Carrie Bradshaw inspired couture at the Golden Globe Awards 2017 compensated this time by fusing two hottest trends of this year metallics and pleats in a J Mendel bronze mini dress teamed with a corset.
Jennifer Lopez – How can a best-dressed list be complete without J Lo! The singer of On the Floor fame who bagged the Favourite TV Crime Drama Actress Award looked scintillating in a Reem Acra mermaid gown with an embellished illusion bodice, Brian Atwood shoes and H. Stern baubles. The look stood out for its bold showcase of a beige bra underneath statement silver jewels, smokey eyes and definitely her toned figure. Way to go J Lo!
Priyanka Chopra – Unlike her disastrous red carpet appearance at this year’s Golden Globe, our desi girl Priyanka Chopra ensured that she would not take any chances this time and voila we are raving over her red carpet appearance at the People’s Choice Awards 2017 where she exuded sweetheart vibes in a peach crop top with a high-low hemline that she teamed up with a fringe skirt by Sally Lapointe and Schutz shoes. Her twirling moment in this effortlessly chic look worked wonders! She also took home the Favorite Dramatic TV Actress Award for Quantico.
Blake Lively – All eyes were on Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively who not just won the Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress Award but also won praise from the fashion police for preening to perfection in a resplendent two-piece outfit by Elie Saab that worked on the trends of sheer, sparkle, strategic cut-outs and dramatic fringes! Looks like fringe also became a favourite fashion detail on the red carpet.
Gwen Steffani – What is fashion if one doesn’t take risks and Gwen Steffani clearly showed us the way by going the risqué mode in a blue tulle two-piece that comprised of a frilly bra coordinated with a cropped ruffled top and blue skirt with floral appliqué. Fishnet stockings and black patent heel concluded the avant-garde look!
Peyton List – The Disney Channel star channeled her inner sweetheart in a Yanina Couture dress, Sophia Webster ankle-strap heels and Meira T and Beth Miller Jewellery. What I liked about the look was its age-appropriateness, the hairstyle that did justice to the off-shoulder dress and the less is more route!
Jamie Chung – The ‘Once Upon a time’ star embraced lace in the most simple yet beautiful way ever! Her ensemble that includes a butter-yellow Martha Medeiros lace gown, teal box clutch by Edie Parker and subtle jewellery from the brands Csarite and Jennifer Meyer Jewelry won her brownie points from the fashion critics! I particularly loved how she let the elegance of the fabric take centre stage by shying away from OTT jewellery.
Ruby Rose – If there was someone on the red carpet who took bold and beautiful literally, it had to be Ruby Rose who oozed glamour in a vivid orange tuxedo by Veronica Beard from the designer’s S/S 17 collection. The plunging neckline of the tuxedo daringly showed off her chest tattoo! The masculine tailoring of the tuxedo coupled with dark black vamp-inspired lips added the right amount of drama. Kudos to you lady for steering clear of failsafe fashion!
Yara Shahida – American Actress Yara Shahida showed us that seasons may come and go but B/W will never go out of fashion. The 16-year old was spotted in two looks on the red carpet but I am certainly digging the checkered semi-sheer floor-length gown by Virgil Abloh and Stuart Weitzman heels. The highlight of the show stealer gown was not just its chessboard inspired checks but also the heavy dose of ruffle detailing which is another big trend this year! Looks like alongside coruscating metallics, soft and romantic colour palette of peach, blush, pale dogwood and similar shades(Pantone colour of Spring 2017) emerged the hottest colours at the People’s Choice Awards 2017 Red Carpet.
Do let us know whose looks you liked the best on the People’s Choice Awards 2017 Red Carpet and why. Stay in style my fashionistas!
