The 23rd Annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards 2017 red carpet at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium gave us all fashion goals. From this year’s diaphanous trend, sheer to high-slits and plunging necklines to the sea of black couture, our Hollywood divas made sure to tick the entire trend checklist for the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards 2017 Red Carpet.
I have curated 10 best looks from this year’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards 2017 Red Carpet. So without further delay lets see the report card of how these ladies performed!
Emma Stone balancing bold and dainty!
The Easy A actress got our vote for being one of the best dressed for Golden Globe Awards 2017 and I was not surprised to find her continuing with her undisputed status on the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards 2017 red carpet. Basking in the glory of her Best Actress win for La La Land, Emma Stone went bold but restrained with floral accents in her Alexander McQueen black gown that was part daringly sheer and a part lotus motifs. Leaving her hair in a side sweep and shoes from Jimmy Choo, she grabbed eyeballs for all the right reasons!
Kirsten Dunst red carpet pretty in Dior!
True to her penchant for chic and intricate fashion, the Jumanji actress embraced a coruscating ruffled white Dior gown that boasted of crystal embellished straps and lingerie-inspired bustier neckline. Beach waves and a vivid red pout complimented the lacey gown. She looked divine!
Emily Blunt on a red carpet roll!
The Devil wears Prada star donned a nude, empire waist, bedecked Roberto Cavalli gown that was high on floral motifs. The gown with its plunging neckline and criss-cross detailing at the back was teamed with Louboutin heels, Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and Lee Savage clutch that epitomized pulchritude.
Thandie Newton acing surreal pretty!
Unleashing red carpet oomph in the most unexpected way, ‘The Pursuit of happyness’ actress looked magnificent in a conspicuously blingy tea-length dress from Bertrand Guyon’s Fall 2016 collection. The surrealism of the gown lied in its embroidered Ferris Wheel and a series of mystical creatures! This entrancing futuristic Westworld-inspired couture had velvet at the asymmetrical neckline, bejewelled phoenix stitched across the back and a touch of blue underneath the sleeves that coalesced together to culminate into ‘the’ red carpet moment.
Taraji P. Hensen goes all sheer!
The actress of Hustle & Flow fame showed us that if you have it, then flaunt it! Hensen looked like a million bucks in a Reem Acra onion pink embellished gown with a bow detailing at the neck, a bob updo and Nirav Modi diamond earrings. The sheer upper part might look like a risqué move but I certainly love it as it takes confidence and grace to carry a couture that may lead to a fashion faux pas at any moment. Bravo lady!
Brie Larson is exquisite in white!
Staying away from drama, Brie Larson was a breath of fresh air in her well-tailored and fitted-to-perfection Jason Wu white number. Keeping jewellery to a bare minimum, she finished off the look with black ankle-strap Jimmy Choo heels. She looked angelic!
Sofia Vergara was the definition of simplicity!
Taking a break from her signature glam avatar, Sofia Vergara treaded the alternative route in a Zuhair Murad mid-length shimmer off-shoulder top and a black tulle mid-length skirt. The actress looked like a “ballerina” and we have no doubts on that!
Nicole Kidman’s parrot-y flight!
Nicole Kidman surprised everyone with a profusely sequined green Gucci dress that had two feathered parrots adorning her shoulders! Yes you read that right! She concluded the high-on-drama look with Fred Leighton jewellery, Omega watch, Kotur clutch and Stuart Weitzman shoes. She ruffled quite a feather though!
Gina Rodriguez dream-like appearance!
The latina beauty donned a dreamy PatBo number that was the talk of the town owing to its hummingbird sequined embroidery on a delicate fabric palette. Jewellery from L Frank and Hueb completed this fairytale look. Just loved it!
Evan Rachel Wood sharp in pantsuit!
Evan Rachel Wood looked dapper in a navy velvet pantsuit by Altuzarra. Velvet being one of the go-to fabrics for the season, it was obvious that the actress wanted to be on the fashion forward side. With tiffany studded earrings and tanzanite Tiffany rings for company what could go wrong!
