The Biggest Indian Fashion Parade!

India’s fashion map has seen many evolving trends and of course its biggest influence is Bollywood.

Bollywood being the hub of movie and luxury, depicts fashion like no other. The fashion designers who are a rave, the innumerous fashion shows, beauty pageants, Bollywood seems to adhere to all of these events. Lets take a look at Indian biggest fashion show that just took place in Mumbai.

Here’s the take on India’s most happening fashion show :

Lakme Fashion Week is a bi-annual fashion event held in Mumbai. Its Summer Edition is hosted in February whiles the Winter Collection takes place in August.

It is considered as a premiere fashion event in India which is run by Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and the title sponsor is none other than Lakme!

The event first took place in 1999 which saw the participation of international models such as Naomi Campbell as well as Indian film stars such as Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora Khan, and Arjun Rampal.

International labels like Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, and Roberto Cavalli have also taken part.

Among Indian designers, Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani, and Ritu Beri have taken part in the event. The event has been responsible for launching the careers of ace designers like Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

From Kareena Kapoor to Huma Qureshi, many celebrities have walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week. LFW Winter Festive 2012 opened with a gala show of dramatic looks created by Lakme makeup expert Clint Fernandes.

Followed next were the collections by Kallol Datta 1955.

LFW’s season scheduled to start on March 22 at the same venue at the Mumbai Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai, which has played host to the IMG Reliance-organized event since 2009.

On August 23, 2013, the Winter/Festive season featured collections by Payal Khandwala, Vaishali S, Shivan & Narresh, Kallol Datta, and Pankaj & Nidhi.

The event was graced by the presence of actresses like Sonal Chauhan, Shilpa Shetty, Sonali Bendre, Isha Koppikar, Jacqueline, and Neha Dhupia.

Lakmé Fashion Week is a huge crowd puller because of the endless talent it displays to the country’s fashion enthusiasts. There’s also that element of star power in the air towards the end of each show! This season, Lakmé Fashion Week’s shows were choc-a-block with Bollywood faces.
